French Virus Series "Fear by the Lake" Sets its Sights on a Worldwide Release

Tagline: "A Deadly Epidemic Strikes the Lake Community. No One Can Escape an Invisible Killer."

"Fear by the Lake" is a television series from France. Offering six episodes, this French language series envisions a future pandemic, in an isolated community. The first season has already run in France. TF1 International is handling a possible North American or worldwide release. And, the series creator is Jérôme Cornuau (The Next). Julie De Bona (The Gilded Cage), Lannick Gautry (Vanished by the Lake), Pierre Perrier (The Returned), Juliette Plumecocq-Mech and many others star in the series. The series' synopsis also talks about the virus being a curse. Spreading throughout the city of Annecy, those uninfected are searching for the origins of the virus, while questioning whether this is a biological attack. As the victims increase in numbers, survivors are struggling to find hope.

A number of virus focused series have been released of late. Netflix's "Pandemic (2020)" just premiered recently. And, a more conspiratorial mind might consider predictive programming is at play. Predictive programming is media introduced to a population to inculcate them to future, planned real events. However, based on the amount of film and television produced every year, the high number of virus infused television programs coming out of late is likely just a coincidence, a very strange coincidence.

Fear by the Lake aka Peur sur Le Lac does not have a future Canadian or U.S. release. But, with large populations of French speaking communities across these territories, this first season is sure to sea a wider release, shortly. For now, a thirty second trailer is available below.
