The Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival Announces Four Films for 2010

Four films have been announced as showing at the Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival so far. To show are the comedic goreathon Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, the low budget zombie flick Colin, the documentary on Dick Dyszel's life Every Other Day is Halloween and the Herschell Gordon Lewis production The Uh-Oh Show! This event takes place in Washington, D.C. beginning October 21. This is the fifth year for the event and these four films will give horror fans a tease as to what to expect from the upcoming film festival. A few more details on Spooky Movie are below, with a full announcement of films September 7th, and a synopsis for each film mentioned.

A Tucker and Dale vs. Evil synopsis:

Director: Eli Craig.

"Dale (Labine)and Tucker (Tudyk) are two good-natured hillbillies mistakenly accused of being psycho killers by a group of camping college kids. A summer cabin then becomes a place of pure evil as these kids are led to slaughter by their own hands" (28DLA).

Showings: October 21st to 25th.

Colin

Director: Marc Price.

"Our hero Colin is bitten by a Zombie; he dies and returns from the dead. We follow him as he wanders through suburbia during the throes of a cadaverous apocalypse" (IMDB).

Every Other Day is Halloween

Director: Dick Dyszel.

"Join filmmaker C.W. Prather as he takes TV lovers on a nostalgic trip back to when horror hosts haunted the UHF dial and regional television held a treasure trove of localized surprises. For generations of Washingtonians, the name Dick Dyszel will forever be synonymous with three names: Bozo the Clown, Captain 20, and Count Gore De Vol. Through the 1970s and '80s, Dyszel's colorful television characters entertained adults and children alike. Later, when the millennium was about to turn and skeptics cited horror hosts as a relic of the past, Dyszel revolutionized the concept of on-demand entertainment by launching "Creature Feature: The Weekly Web Program" (BestBuy).

The Uh-Oh Show

Director: Herschell Gordon Lewis.

*A synopsis is unavailable at this time, but think horror icon biopic.

*Opening night on October 21 will be held at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, with the rest of the screenings (October 22-25) will be at Cinema Arts in Fairfax, VA
