Kaare Andrews: An Interview

By now most fans have heard of the high-flying, supernatural film "Altitude," but did you know that Telefilm Canada is part financier and that that Kaare Andrews is currently filming in Langley, British Columbia? Kaare Andrews videographer, artist, and now director of the forthcoming "Altitude," has all kinds of information on this horror project and the full interview can be found below.

Q (Mike Allen): "Hello Kaare, thanks for taking the time out from filming to answer some questions about your film "Altitude." What led you to cast Jessica Lowndes from "Autopsy," in the lead role of 'Altitude?'"

A (Kaare Andrews): "We really looked a long time for the right actress to build our cast around. Jessica is a talent that really caught our attention. We were looking for someone with a bit of a profile, intelligent enough to believe that she could actually fly a plane and the right age. Once we secured Jessica we were able to find the right actors to compliment what she brought to the table. I could not be happier with what she is doing for us both in front of and off camera. She is a rockstar."

Q (Mike Allen): "Can you tell us where "Altitude," is in the shooting schedule and where are you currently filming?"

A (Kaare Andrews): "We are already halfway through production and are filming in Langley. We've also spent some time at both Langley and Pitt Meadows airports. It's quite a challenging project as most of the film takes place entirely within a seven seater plane! You cannot even stand up inside one of those things."

Q (Mike Allen): "And finally, for those with an interest in what happens behind the scenes can you tell us how "Altitude," came together?"

A (Kaare Andrews): "I met the the producer Ian Birkett at the Canadian Film Centre and we were looking for a project to do together. It just so happened his brother Paul had recently finished this quirky airplane script and we decided to put together a teaser trailer and shop it around. It all happened pretty quickly and we soon found partners in Archlight Films, Foundation Features and TeleFilm Canada. I couldn't be happier with our executive producers. They've been really supportive throughout the whole process."

Thanks goes out to Kaare Andrews for answering the questions found here and for several others on this latest horror production "Altitude."
