The Rite Starring Anthony Hopkins Debuts the First Poster Here

Anthony Hopkins stars with Ciarin Hinds, Alice Braga and Rutger Hauer in the possession themed The Rite. A trailer for the film debuted (here) in October and now the first poster can be seen from the film. The movie's poster is riddled with Catholic religious motifs including a cross across Father Lucas' (Hopkins) face. There is a second cross in the film's title and the tagline offers: "you can only defeat it when you believe." So, horror fans there is still time to convert! This film launches into theatres January 28th and those interested in the graphic can click for a better view. A few more details are inside.

The synopsis for The Rite is here:

"Inspired by true events, follows a skeptical seminary student Michael (Colin O'Donoghue) who reluctantly attends an exorcism school at the Vatican. While there, he meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas, who introduces him to a darker side of his faith" (Shock).

Release Date: January 28th, 2011 (Theatrical).
