Magnet Makes Another Korean Film Acquisition with I Saw the Devil

Magnet Releasing has been busy acquiring films, with Chawz bought this week and now South Korea's I Saw the Devil. The film is brutal in content as psychopathic murderer Kyung-chul goes on a violent rampage for sport. That is until he kills one innocent person too many and special agent Dae-hoon vows to track him down. Magnet VP Tom Quinn echoes the violent nature of the piece: "unparalleled in its brutality, Kim Jeewoon deftly takes the serial killer thriller to new, profoundly disturbing heights." This film distribution company, based in North America, has already set a release date for I Saw the Devil as early 2011. Have a look at the trailer for the feature, which promises bloody showdowns and indiscriminate acts of homicide.

The synopsis for I Saw the Devil here:

"Kyung-chul is a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. He has committed infernal serial murders in diabolic ways that one cannot even imagine and his victims range from young women to even children. The police have chased him for a long time, but were unable to catch him. One day, Joo-yeon, daughter of a retired police chief becomes his prey and is found dead in a horrific state.

Her fiance Dae-hoon, a top secret agent, decides to track down the murderer himself. He promises himself that he will do everything in his power to take bloody vengeance against the killer, even if it means that he must become a monster himself to get this monstrous and inhumane killer" (Youtube).
