Dogme 95s Antichrist: News, and Trailer

Lars Von Trier director and member of Dogme 95 is releasing the first trailer for his small film "Antichrist." The Dogme 95 are a primarily Danish collective of independent filmmakers whose goal is to add a balance to the blockbusters films, with huge budgets, being produced in Hollywood. Attempting to stay closer to the grassroots of picture making Von Trier with other directors Thomas Vinterberg, Kristian Levring, and Soren Kragh-Jacobsen are choosing to keep their pictures simpler. Therefore, "Antichrist," is sure to have a powerful message, but will lack elaborate sets, special effects and will likely offer a unique horror film full of philosophy.

As of now there is no North American studio attached to the picture, unsurprisingly; so, fans of Von Trier will have to wait slightly longer for a release date as "Antichrist," makes the rounds on the film circuit including Cannes, France in May 2009. In the meantime have a look at the first full trailer inside.

Release Date: May 20, 2009 (France).

Rating: Unknown.

Director: Lars von Trier.

Writer(s): Lars von Trier, and Anders Thomas Jensen.

Cast: Willem Dafoe, and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
