The Home Entertainment Release of Chris Sun's Boar to Hold Nothing Back (Out Dec. 3rd)

Boar is a creature feature from director Chris Sun (Charlie's Farm, 2014). The film was released on the streaming service Shudder, this past Summer. Now, the film is slated for a showing on DVD and Blu-ray this December. There have been rumours of a more goretastic version out there and the home entertainment release has not been rated. In the film, a family are targeted by a 14' monster, which stalks the Australian countryside. And, this giant has a taste for human flesh. Boar stars: Bill Moseley (Crepitus), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek) and Nathan Jones. A preview of the film's home entertainment release is hosted here.

Director Sun has talked about his film several times, over the years. In interviews, Sun has mentioned his use of practical effects. Sun talks with Infamous Horrors about a pivotal scene: "there is a fight scene where Nathan Jones has to fight with the practical beast; this scene was a huge challenge for many reasons. The scene involved stunts, breakaway tables, breakaway doors and a 14ft monster that had to be pushed into every position by many crewmembers." This action scene comes near the end of the film. And, Sun knows when to use practical fx to bring as much realism to this picture. Sun also mentions the difficulties in moving his huge beast: "it took 3 men inside the beast to make him move and a team of people outside also pushing him around." The monster in the film does look like something out of a nightmare.

Boar will release this December 3rd. With a runtime of 96 minutes, Boar promises to bring all of the bloodiest bits to the screen. Already seen by this film fan, Boar is an entertaining time spent in the Australian Outback. Never boring, this release is one to be seen by horror film fans.
