A Demonic Stairwell in The Ascent Forces Soldiers Upwards: A Preview

Tagline: "One Step Closer to Hell."

The Ascent is a blend of sci-fi and horror. Already having screened at this year's Frightfest in London, this title is getting set for possible screenings at this year's American Film Market - in Santa Monica. In the film, several special ops' soldiers find themselves in a struggle for survival. Trapped in a supernatural stairwell, they must climb upwards or face death from below. As well, this film was directed by Tom Paton (Redwood) and stars: Toby Osmond ("Game of Thrones"), Matt Malecki (Hurricane), Sophie Austin, Alana Wallace, Simon Meacock and many others. A trailer was released for the film last month and the film's most recent artwork is available here.

The trailer reveals more of the film's story. The troops find themselves battling forces above. Once below, they are faced with their own transgressions, in the form of demonic characters. Once their past catches up with them, the gloves come off in this action packed thriller.

The Ascent does not have a specific release date. Though completed, this United Kingdom shot feature is likely to show overseas, before releasing in North America. Currently being represented by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution, film fans will not have to wait long to see this b-movie adventure soon!
