The Field Guide to Evil Brings Horror Titles from Across the World to Audiences this Spring

The Field Guide to Evil is an upcoming horror anthology. The anthology has brought together eight films, from several very different cultures and climates. Director Can Evrenol of Baskin (2015) fame has been involved along with other directors, including: Ashim Ahluwalia (Miss Lovely) Severin Fiala (Goodnight Mommy), Agnieszka Smoczynska (The Lure) and many others. The Field Guide to Evil recently had its World Premiere in Austin, Texas. Here, the film was well received and interviews were given.

Director Yannis Veslemes (Norway) was interviewed by the Daily Dead. He said of the anthology and its horror mash-up: "everyone that was involved, I sense that they took stories from their traditions and they mixed things up in a very personal way. So, it's a documentary in some ways." This title brings horror stories, from many different countries, to the screen. As well, director Calvin Lee Reeder mentions the length of some of the short films and how he developed his: "it's just that some stories are only ten minutes, some stories are only three minutes, and it's very instinctual to me (Daily Dead)." The directors have mentioned how they have left commercialism behind in favour of traditionalism, later in the interview.

All of these great directors have been teamed-up for an excellent film. The Field Guide to Evil will debut, on home entertainment platforms, in early 2019. Fans of anthologies can see the film then, when Tombstone Distribution releases this title to horror audiences. As well, a trailer can be seen at the Tombstone website, found below.
