Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Goes to the Creative Well for a Sixth Time: First Trailer

Sometimes, there is too much of a good thing. The Resident Evil game to film series continues with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. This time, Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns to Raccoon City, to battle some familiar foes. The first full length trailer, shot with a washed out brown lens, rocks along with Guns n' Roses' "Paradise City." Why has Alice been unable to defeat Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) and Dr. Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen) over six films, now?

From the synopsis, the Umbrella Corporation is set to kill the few remaining survivors, of a brutal disaster. Alice will re-team with a few familiar faces, including Claire Redfield (Ali Larter). Without her special abilities, this could be (hopefully) Alice's final battle.

The Resident Evil film series continues with a familiar pattern. Alice battles the undead hordes, in blown up cities. A CGI battle and another confrontation with either Wesker or Isaacs takes place (or both in this case). But, will this truly be the end? With close to 1 billion in ticket sales, this film franchise is a money earner. Meanwhile, the creative elements of this series have mostly faded away. For the most stalwart, die-hard fans of the Resident Evil series, the first trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is here.
