Split Twenty-three Ways in this Trailer from M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan has directed another thriller, titled Split. Last year, he completed the nightmarish The Visit. And, he will also direct an episode for the return of "Tales from the Crypt," in 2017. Actor James McAvoy (X-men: First Class) stars in this feature, which deals with Split Personality Disorder aka Dissociative Identity Disorder. This real life disorder, often caused by trauma, creates differing characters within one person. Some of those personalities can be seen in the first trailer for Split, found here.

The film focuses on Kevin (McAvoy) and his abduction of three teenage girls. He keeps them locked away as he introduces them to each of his personalities. And, one is not like the other. The most dominant personality, the Beast, is set to make an appearance as the girls struggle to escape.

Shyamalan has stated that he will continue with smaller budgeted films. After critical failures like The Happening (2008), Shyamalan has kept the budgets of his features to a few million, with The Happening budgeted at closer to 48 million. This latest also looks to be produced for just under 4-5 million. More on Split is hosted below.

Release Date: January 20th, 2017 (Theatrical).

Director/writer: M. Night Shyamalan.

Cast: James McAvoy, Haley Lu Richardson, Brad William Henke and Anya Taylor-Joy.
