The Blind King Rules the Land in this Trailer for Don't Breathe

The first trailer for Fede Alvarez's (Evil Dead, 2013) Don't Breathe has been released. The clip shows three teenagers breaking into an army veteran's home. The robbery does not go according to plan. The films stars Daniel Zovatto, Jane Levy, Stephen Lang and Dylan Minnette, with Don't Breathe set for a Summer release. The theatrical trailer is below.

The trailer reveals more of the story. An army veteran has received millions of dollars, for the death of his daughter. Though, the trailer shows that a woman is being held against her will, in the basement. And, the three teens have their own motivations for stealing the money; Rocky (Levy) comes from a broken home. Others are just greedy. The storm begins once the trio of robbers head down into the depths.

A couple of different versions of the trailer have been released. The one hosted here shows less, while others display more footage. Less is sometimes more, especially in horror. As well, in alternate versions there are the intertitles: "in the land of the dark" and "the blind man is king." This is a play on the idiom: "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king." And, viewers will see the robbers struggling in all of the darkness. The shorter trailer for Don't Breathe is below.
