Ghost Children Emerge Out of the Dark in this Preview Clip

Out of the Dark is a horror film from Colombia. This feature stars Julia Stiles (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Scott Speedman as a couple, in dangerous territory. The film has been released in some markets, including Mexico. A release in the United Kingdom takes place this June. And, a new clip has been released to promote the UK DVD launch. That clip can be found here.

From the synopsis, Sara (Stiles) and Paul Harriman (Speedman) travel to Colombia. They are set to take over a family business, when ghostly children attack. Their factory has been located near a haunted hospital and that hospital hosts tormented, tiny souls.

Reviews for Out of the Dark lean towards the negative. Matt Boiselle, of Dread Central, laments on the film's pacing: "there are more than just a few slogging scenes." A horror film is often more affective with an upbeat tempo. Mark Harris, from About.com, finds that the film borrows from the past: "it's severely lacking when it comes to originality." Cliches can hamper any possible surprises. But, this reviewer hopes to track down a copy for a review, while buyers may want to scour even more reviews, before buying.

Director: Lluís Quílez.

Writers: Javier Gullón, David Pastor and Alex Pastor.

Cast: Frank Cuervo, Pixie Davies, Alejandro Furth and Stephen Rea.
