There are elements of Josh Tranck's Chronicle in the first trailer for Afflicted. An online journal diary counts backwards as two friends go on a one year world tour. And, one of those friends inherits supernatural powers, which allows him to run faster and jump farther. Afflicted stars and was directed by Derek Lee and Clif Prowse. This horror title will release through several formats April 4th, 2014.
A good deal of the story is revealed in the clip. As well, more story details have been released by CBS Films. In short, two friends vacation around the world. In Paris, one friend has a strange sexual encounter with a young woman. Soon, Derek is showing off some new, almost supernatural powers.
