Preview 15 Minutes from the Upcoming Season of "Helix"

The premiere of the television show "Helix" is nearing. The first season will debut January 10th, 2014, on the SyFy Network. This series is being helmed by "Battlestar Gallactica" writer Ronald D. Moore. As well, the show stars Mark Ghanimé ("Soldiers of the Apocalypse"), Jordan Hayes, Kyra Zagorsky and Jeri Ryan ("Star Trek: Voyager"). And now, the first 15 minutes of Epis. 1, simply titled "Pilot," has been released.

The series is set in the Arctic Circle. Here, a virulent disease is unleashed in an underground facility and several scientists are exposed to a pathogen. Members of the Centre for Disease Control are sent to the facility to try and find a remedy.

The 15 minute clip shows several of the scientists preparing for their trek to the Arctic. As well, one of the infected is shown late in the reel. Fans of science-fiction and apocalyptic scenarios can take an early look at Epis. 1 of "Helix," below.
