The American Mary Trailer Hosts Dark Humour and Botched Surgeries

The Soska sisters, Jen and Sylvia (Dead Hooker in a Trunk), are preparing their second feature. Their newest horror film, American Mary, deals with underground surgeries. And, Mary is not someone you would likely hire for a quick nip and tuck.

The first trailer shows a few surgeries gone wrong. Apparently, Mary (Katharine Isabelle) has dropped out of medical school. She now experiments on a steady stream of clientele. Her results are disturbingly lackluster. Late in the clip, Dr. Josef Mengele is mentioned. If you missed the joke, that is because Mengele has been dead for thirty years now. Previously, he was a NAZI doctor who performed pseudo-science on twins and other concentration camp prisoners. Enjoy the dark humour below.
