"Warehouse" and Masked Tension: A Movie Review

*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by Busted Knuckle Productions.

Director: Casey Nelson.

Writers: Casey Nelson and Chris Hayes.

Producer: Hunter G. Williams.

"Warehouse" is the latest film to be completed by Busted Knuckle Productions. This production company has also finished work on two other horror features titled Cornered and The Whispering Dead. In the short film "Warehouse" two friends wake up in a darkened garage. A killer looms in the darkness brandishing an axe. The third act can be predicted, but getting there is a lot of fun.

The two men are Nick (Chris Hayes) and Jamie (Casey Nelson) and they wake up groggy and disoriented. Nick is blindfolded and Jamie has a cut on his head. After a few minutes of disorientation a killer steps out of the darkness masked and ready to start chopping some limbs off. However, this is just a tease. Soon there are chainsaws and the finale might be guessed by some viewers.

Ten minutes long, "Warehouse" is a fun watch that stays horror until the end. The final impact has affect, while the killer's (Liv von Oelreich) gender can be guessed by her silky moves and get-down-to-business style. The acting is good while the directing is simple. Close-ups are the mode of the day.

Check out "Warehouse" when it plays at a film festival near you as the film has recently been submitted to several festivals across North America. To show in 2012, "Warehouse" is a fun film from Casey Nelson who knows filmmaking from several years of acting. Tense and then lighthearted, "Warehouse" will keep you questioning what will happen next with the final punchline a mite predictable. Check out the film in 2012.

Overall: 7 out of 10 (tense, good acting, small cast, exciting, a wee bit predictable).
