id Software's Rage Impresses Game Experts and Judges Alike: Early Reviews

Early reviews on id Software's Rage have come in for both the X-Box and PS3 from Gamespot and IGN, respectively. Both reviewers (Chris Watters, Charles Onyett) give the game high marks between 7.5 (PS3) and 8 (X-Box). As well, both reviewers mention the game's gorgeous cinematics and extensive gameplay. There is some inconsistency in the amount of specific gameplay in Rage as Watters mentions: "the honor belongs to the lengthy campaign, which can last upward of 20 hours," while Onyett talks of a shorter gaming experience: "no significant contextual drama is ever established over the course of Rage's roughly ten to twelve hour run." It also seems that the online play is somewhat sparse with only a four player dune buggy competition available or a few side quests playable with friends. Overall, Rage seems to be impressing judges with few bugs reported and a rich environment available to explore. Check out both reviews in their entirety at the sites listed below.
