Mem Ferda Attends the New York Red Carpet Premiere of ‘The Devil's Double’

*Mem is now due to attend the United Kingdom Premiere at the Vue Cinema in London’s Leicester Square on Monday August 1st 2011

The Devil's Double had a Red Carpet premiere in New York July 25th and this thriller has also released in other cities across North America since July 29th. At the New York star studded event, both cast and crew were in attendance. As seen in the photos here and below, actor Mem Ferda, who plays Kamel Hannah, made an appearance along with lead actor Dominic Cooper. Many other stars of film and media were in attendance, which included Helen Mirren.

The Devil's Double is a biography of Latif Yahia's experience as a body double to Uday Hussein, Saddam Hussein's crazy, psychotic son. Latif is played by Dominic, while Ferda plays Kamel Hannah, Saddam's Hussein's best friend, body guard and food taster. This film covers the real life exploits of Uday and his dangerous encounters in a world of wealth and corruption. Have a look at The Devil's Double in theatres now. "The Devil's Double tells the true story of Latif Yahia, an Iraqi army lieutenant who was forcibly recruited as the fiday (body double) of Uday Hussein. Mem’s role is that of Kamel Hannah, who was Saddam Hussein’s best friend, bodyguard and food-taster. The film is based on Yahia’s book of the same name and stars Dominic Cooper in an impressive double role as both Yahia and Uday Hussein."
