"The Walking Dead" Returns with Two Rotting Stills from the Set in Austin, GA.

Two new stills are available for Season 2 of "The Walking Dead." Zombies appear in both and the production is obviously paying attention to the make-up effects of the undead walkers. The first still shows four hungry flesheaters, in various states of decay, while the second shows another walking corpse with googily-eyes. Both photos should give zombie television fans a strong idea of what to expect this October, when "The Walking Dead," shows Season 2. Currently, filming is taking place throughout Atlanta, GA., with many of the initial cast members returning for this updated season e.g. Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, and Jon Bernthal.

*no synopsis is available, as the season is being kept under wraps. There is some indication that the second season will take place on a farm, similar to the comics.

Release Date: October, 2011 (Television).

Director: Frank Darabont.

Writers: Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

Cast: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn and Steven Yeun.

*Director Frank Darabont says of the production: "At this moment, I'm standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew. Across the board, there are none better. It's great to be shooting again. I think we've embarked on a great season" (AMC).

**there will be a total of 13 episodes for Season 2.

***budget cuts have taken place on this second season, despite "The Walking Dead" being one of AMC's highest rated shows (18-34 age group).
