Quarantine 2 Takes to the Infected Skies with this First Trailer

Zombies on a plane! This is the basic premise for the upcoming thriller Quarantine 2. This second film in the series will not be a remake of Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza's [Rec] 2 (like the first film) however, but something different. Quarantine 2 is attempting to arouse that innate fear of viruses and flu-bugs, that most of us have and first time director John Pogue will do this through the confining environment of air travel. Oxygen mask anyone? Check out the first trailer for this feature, with a DVD release date expected for later this year.

The synopsis for the film is here:

"The story picks up later that night from the previous film at LAX, as passengers board a flight to Nashville. When a passenger becomes violently ill with a mysterious rabies-like virus, the plane makes an emergency landing at a large metropolitan airport. Jenny (Mercedes Masohn), a heroic yet inexperienced flight attendant, takes charge of the safety of her passengers.

Relieved when a swarm of heavily equipped emergency vehicles, police units and the CDC arrive, Jenny and the passengers soon discover that they have been quarantined and are now trapped. Desperate to escape, Jenny enlists the help of one of the surviving passengers, a kindergarten teacher, Henry (Josh Cooke), to devise a plan to survive" (UHM).

Release Date: 2011 (DVD).

Director/writer: John Pogue.

Cast: George Back, Andrew Benator, Jason Benjamin, Bre Blair, Lynn Cole, Josh Cooke and John Curran.
