The New Year will kick-start with the Season of the Witch, a film starring Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider, National Treasure) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy). In this supernatural action adventure film, Cage and Perlman plays a Crusader and side-kick duo who return home only to find their world besieged by the Black Plague.
The Church believes that a witch is responsible and they command the two heroes to escort her to a remote monastery to perform an ancient rite and to cure the land of this blight. While this film certainly looks like a variation of Stephen Sommer’s, Van Helsing, the question many audiences will ask is: does Cage have a ghost of a chance to regain his action hero status?
