It is amazing that Death Race 2 will be going straight-to-DVD and Blu-Ray when the first film grossed nearly double what it took to create the film. The film grossed a total of $74 million worlwide (IMDb), which is a nice haul! However, the second picture in the series will have all sorts of interesting extras on the DVD and Blu-Ray release to keep fans happy including: an audio commentary with director Roel Reiné, 3 featurettes "The Race Begins: The Evolution of the Death Race", "Cheating Death: The Stunts of Death Race 2", "Fast Cars and Firearms: The Cars of Death Race 2", a Deleted Shots Montage with director intro, and deleted scenes with director intro (DVD). The release date for this film has been announced as January 18th, with the vehicle mayhem, death and destruction will surprisingly be displayed in home theatres rather than public theatres.
