Keira Knightley Cloned in Never Let Me Go

Fox Searchlight Pictures will release Alex Garland's (28 Days Later) latest screenplay entitled Never Let Me Go, with Mark Romanek directing (seen left). The film is an adaption of Kazuo Ishiguro's novel of the same name and involves the creation of clones for organ transplants. Garland shows an expertise for writing the dramatic and thrilling, but here is one vote for a second sequel to 28 Days Later, which has been in the works for at least two years now (28 Months Later). More details on Never Let Me Go below.

The synopsis for the film:

"An alternate history story of a woman who, as she reflects on her private school years in the English countryside, reunites with her two friends to face the dark secrets buried in their communal past. With no contact or knowledge of the outside world during their years at the boarding school, they discover they are clones, born and raised for the sole purpose of providing organs for transplants" (Fused).

Release: October 1, 2010.

Director: Mark Romanek.

Writer: Alex Garland.

Cast: Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, and Andrew Garfield.
