Last Day of Summer/Held Captive Seeks Domestic Distro'

Last Day of Summer is being distributed by Spotlight Pictures internationally as Held Captive. The film does not at present have domestic distibution, yet, the film takes an interesting look at a down and out fast food operator who seeks intimacy at the end of a gun. This film, starring DJ Qualls (Road Trip) and Nikki Reed (Twilight), is being promoted in two very different ways and this reviewer encourages readers to look at the differences between Last Day of Summer and Held Captive below.

The synopsis for Last Day of Summer/Held Captive:

"Joe had a plan. He was finally going to take revenge on his boss (William Sadler), when a quick glance from Stephanie (Nikki Reed) sends him in another direction. Instead of erupting into a violent spree, he kidnaps this feisty, beautiful stranger, and as she is held captive in a motel room, she helps Joe open-up and explore the causes of his suffering" (Last Day).

The cast and crew for both:

Director/writer: Vlad Yudin.

Cast: DJ Qualls, Nikki Reed, Williams Sadler, Chris Bashinelli, E.J. Carroll, Jason Cruz, Chris Cullen, Heather Dilly, Lawrence Feeney, and Cory Kahaney.

In both trailers the film has comedic elements, but the second is darker toned with more violence and conflict. This film has not been picked up for Norte Americano distribution, so viewing the film locally is a long way off.
