The Reef Takes a Bite out of the EFM!



Lightning Entertainment will be bringing the shock to the European Film Market, which begins February 11th and lasts until the 21st. Lightning will be screening action thriller Road Train at the festival along with The Reef, a water survival story involving a fifteen foot shark. Not beginning until next month, things seem to be heating up at the EFM, with these and other entries from Lightning (Backyard Trespatio, The Irishman, Moment of Truth). The synopsis for The Reef:

"For a group of friends it seemed like a dream come true: A week cruising the world's most beautiful coral reef on their own yacht. But when their boat capsizes leaving them stranded on an overturned hull, the dream quickly turns into a nightmare. Deciding to swim for land, the three friends take to the water. Suddenly, a fin surfaces and with it the realization that they are being stalked by a deadly fifteen foot white pointer shark. Will any of them make the swim or will the sea take what it wants? The Reef walks the line between horror and psychological thriller!"

Release Date: 2010 (currently in post-production).

Director: Andrew Trauki (Black Water).

Cast: Gyyton Grantley, Adrienne Pickering, Zoe Naylor, Damian Walshe-Howling, and Kieran Darcy-Smith.
