Before the Fall on Video

Another film that will be screening at the Screamfest '09 Film Festival is Before the Fall a film about the forthcoming asteroid apocalypse. The film sounds slightly pessimistic about mans' future, but the trailer is interesting enough to watch despite an English monologue drowning out the excitement on display. To show this Saturday October 24 at 7:00pm Before the Fall looks like a good bet to purchase a ticket for if you are lucky to live in the heart of Los Angeles or anywhere near Grauman's Chinese Theater. For those of us (un)fortunate enough not to live near the L.A. hub then you and I will have to wait for a future DVD release date while enjoying this full trailer from IFC films and director F. Javier Gutierrez. Check out the trailer below and prepare to have your eyes seared as comets streak across the screen!

A synopsis for the film courtesy of traileraddict.com:

"What would you do if the world was going to end in 72 hours? A giant meteorite is about to collide with Earth. The planet is gripped by despair and chaos. The inhabitants of the little town of Laguna listen to the news in terror. Ale, a frustrated young man who lives with his mother and works doing odd jobs decides to spend his last days shut away, getting drunk, and listening to his favorite music. But his plans change when he is forced to help his mother, Rosa, to protect his brother Tomas' four children when Lucio, an ambiguous, disturbing stranger appears."

Release: Already released with a limited run on October 24 (DVD release for N. America still to be announced).
