From messages boards to review sites there is a lot of buzz over this film due to the film's dark and gory subject matter. Many reviewers are commenting on the originality of the movie along with the emphasis on friendship rather than bloodshed that sets the film apart from other vampiric tales. The film stays true to the tradition of the vampire; with mirrors not reflecting their appearance, the ability to only come out at night, and the vampire's insatiable need for blood, however the story focuses more on Eli and Oskar's friendship and blossoming romance. There is some controversy over the age of the characters and sexuality but the addition gives the film more of an edge.

"Let the Right One In," is making the rounds at many international film festivals including the Transilvania International Film Festival in Romania. Usually, the cream of the crop, in the film industry makes their rounds at Film Festivals. So, it is likely that this will be a high quality piece with some gore thrown in to enhance the chills. With a limited release this film will be difficult to find, but with positive reviews it will be worth the extra effort to see. Check it out October, 24, 2008, right in time for Halloween.
