David Lynch is one of several producers of "Surveillance," who, along with daughter Jennifer Lynch is the creative power behind "Surveillance." This film has a strange feel to it. Watching the film it is like waiting for something to happen, but not really knowing what. Even during the ending when a twist reveals itself, both the producer and director keep the viewer guessing with an unpredictable storyline. Suspenseful, with good timing this film delivers an instant Lynch classic (Movies).

"Surveillance," begins with an exciting vicious torture scene that might hook some viewers and several later scenes come across as shocking or darkly funny. Many scenes stand out in there goriness including; a scene where an impact between a van and an unaware bystander splatters blood everywhere, and a somewhat laughable heroin overdose scene. As well, an act involving female strangulation with some type of weird erotica will create ambivalent feelings in many.

The ending seems to be missing a scene or two as the film concludes with an unconventional open ending, yet "Surveillance," is entertaining throughout. The costumes of the serial killers are creepy and add mystery to the characters while the action scenes continue to be primal in their brutality. Watch Pell James' performance as Bobbi a drug-addicted girlfriend who is the master of self-preservation.

Original in its storytelling with a slow build to a final character reveal "Surveillance," is a definite must see. Possibly coming out in the middle of 2009 this movie is enjoyable as a psychological thriller, crime drama, or simply as an independent film creation. Look out for this one in major cities this June, 2009.
