Mysterious Thriller Disappearance at Clifton Hill Pulls Back the Curtain this February 28th!

Disappearance at Clifton Hill is an upcoming thriller, from director Albert Shin (In Her Place). Shin's latest is a bit of a mystery thriller, involving a woman returning to her home town. Back in Niagara Falls, Abby must confront something from her childhood, an abduction of a young boy. IFC Midnight acquired this film, for distribution, late in 2019. Starring Tuppence Middleton (The Imitation Game), Hannah Gross (Joker) and a rare appearance by Canadian director David Cronenberg, this film will show in the U.S. and Canada this February 28th.

This film viewer has been interested in film taglines, of late. The tagline for Disappearance at Clifton Hill is a bit of a paradox: "the Truth Can be Deceiving." If truth is deceptive, then this tagline could not be trusted. Lies are deceiving and cannot be trusted. The truth is sometimes all that can be relied on in the world, but maybe not the film world.

With that tangent aside, Disappearance at Clifton Hill has played at several film festivals, throughout 2019. This title had an an appearance at the Toronto Int. Film Festival. Here, the film was nominated for "Best Canadian Feature Film." This title also had an appearance at the IndieScreen Awards. Now, Disappearance at Clifton Hill is set to show for a wider audience, next month.

In the U.S., the film will show through IFC Films. In Canada, Disappearance at Clifton Hill will be distributed by Elevation Pictures. Both outlets will bring the film to Digital platforms and a few screens on February 28th. Fans of thrillers or of film in general will want to see this release, if not only for one of Cronenberg's uncommon appearance in front of the camera. More details below.
