Civil War Mystery Antebellum Debuts an Exciting Teaser Trailer

Tagline: "If it chooses you, nothing can save you."

Antebellum is an upcoming thriller from directors Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz. To debut in 2020, the film's title means: "before the American Civil War." Several scenes, involving the Civil War, can be seen in the film's first teaser trailer. Starring Janelle Monae (The Equalizer), a successful author finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must unwrap a mystery, before it is too late. Now, fans of thrillers can find the short, first snippet for Antebellum below.

As well, a new movie poster has been released for the film. The graphic shows a butterfly, dripping blood. The tagline: "if it chooses you nothing can save you" comes across as ominous. And, all of the promotional material suggests that Antebellum will be taught thriller, wrapped in a bit of mystery.

Mongrel Media is set to show the film in Canada. On April 24th, Antebellum will debut in both Canadian and U.S. theatres. Lionsgate will handle the U.S. release. Currently unrated, this title promises a Civil War mystery, from the deep South. More release details are below.
