Netflix to Debut The Witcher this December 20th: First Trailer

Tagline: "The Worst Monsters are the Ones we Create."

The Witcher is an upcoming fantasy series, set to debut on Netflix. The series' script was developed by Lauren Schmidt ("Daredevil"), based on Andrzej Sapkowski's writings and novels. The series focuses on a monster hunter and his dealings in a war torn land. The Witcher centrally stars Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), who petitioned for the part. Freya Allen (War of the Worlds), MyAnna Buring (The Descent), Eamon Farren and Lars Mikkelsen also star. The first trailer, for the series, is below.

The trailer shows The Witcher fighting monsters and human foes, with sword and sorcery. The clip also shows a bit of political intrigue as The Witcher finds allies in short supply. Action packed, this series looks to bring some adult material to this streaming service, this December.

On December 20th, the pilot will show. The initial episode looks to be sixty minutes, with other episodes in post-production. As well, the initial first season will consist of eight episodes. And, the series was shot across Europe, in: Hungary, Poland and Spain. The first, exciting trailer for The Witcher is below.
