Dramatic Thriller Sleeping in Plastic to Debut at the Austin Film Festival this October

Sleeping in Plastic is an upcoming dramatic thriller from director and photographer Van Ditthavong . In the film, a local high school wrestler finds himself in a destructive relationship. That relationship begins a violent downward spiral, in a small Texas town. In July, a trailer was released for Sleeping in Plastic (found below). As well, the film stars: Addison Timlin (Odd Thomas), Corin Nemec (Rottentail), Dash Mihok, Alex Macnicoll and Nick Chinlund. Now, the film is set to have its World Premiere, in Austin, this October.

Ditthavong has worked as a freelance photographer, for the Texas Monthly. His experiences in this state have led to the creation of this film's story: "it is my ode to the darker side of Texas and my answer to what happens when our definitions of love, lust, and loss all blend together." These elements lead to lots of conflict as seen in the film's trailer. As well, Ditthavong has created two complex characters: "the film at its core is a love story about two damaged souls and the difficulty of escaping the calamity that has defined their lives." This duo create sparks this October. And, Sleeping in Plastic is a film about difficult relationships, with the wrong people.

Sleeping in Plastic will show on October 24th, in Austin, Texas. This showing will be the film's World Premiere. And, Austin continues to be a hub for film festivals and music, with Sleeping in Plastic set to be in good company - at the Austin Film festival. A few more details, on the release, are below.
