A Strange Voice is on the Line in this First Trailer for Close Calls

Director Richard Stringham's first film, Close Calls, will debut this month. Very surreal, a trailer has been revealed for this film, via Terror Films. The clip shows Morgan, played by Jordan Phipps (Amazon Hot Box, 2018), struggling with her grandmother and an assortment of strange scenarios. Very much inspired by Giallo filmmaking, Close Calls also stars: Kristof Waltermire (Perfect Machine), Greg Fallon, Carmen Patterson and Janius Duley as Granny. A preview of the film's Digital launch is hosted here.

The official synopsis talks of a psycho caller. Morgan experiences paranoia as a mysterious person keeps calling. Dealing with her own past, Morgan will have to confront those trying to kill her.

Stringham recently had an interview on this project, at Pop Horror. Stringham says of his first film and his style of filmmaking: "there’s really no other reason for the retro and Giallo feel in Close Calls other than the fact that those are the films I grew up on and loved as a kid. The spirit of Bava, Argento, and Fulci is definitely present throughout the film. I love horror flicks from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s." Some of that Giallo infused style of filmmaking can be seen in the film's first trailer. Stringham also mentions some of the films that have influenced Close Calls: "it started out as a little story that paid homage to thrillers like Black Christmas and When a Stranger Calls." This director really knows quality horror. And, horror fans can see more of Stringham's '80s influenced shocker below.

Close Calls will debut on January 11th, through many Digital hosters. This title will be available on the following platforms, on this date: Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, Vudu, Google Play and Tubi TV. Close Calls may see other Digital hosters at a future date. For now, fans of horror can see the inherent strangeness within Close Calls, here.
