A71 Entertainment Picks Up Punk Rock Thriller The Ranger for a Canadian Home Release

The Ranger is a punk rock horror thriller, from director Jenn Wexler. The first film from Wexler, The Ranger has recently been acquired by Shudder, for a release in 2019. Now, it has just been announced that A71 Entertainment will release the film, on DVD and Blu-ray in Canada, in early January. in the film, several punks head out into the woods, on a camping trip. Out in the forest, the group finds themselves harassed by a maniacal ranger. The Ranger was written by Wexler, along with Giaco Furino. And, this exciting stalk-and-slash stars: Chloë Levine (The Transfiguration), Granit Lahu (The Sinner), Grace Benitez (School of Rock) Jete Laurence (Pet Sematary) and several others. The Ranger was developed by production companies Hood River Entertainment and Glass Eye Pix. Glass Eye Pix showrunner Larry Fessenden also stars in the film. And, Fessenden says of the release: "I am so excited to get this release out into the hands of fans." Canadian horror fans will not have to wait long to see this award winning film.

Most recently, this title had a showing at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. Here, the film was recognized for turning the horror genre a bit on its head. The Ranger has had other appearances at film festivals across the world: the Fantasia International Film Festival, the Sydney Film Festival, the Sitges Film Festival and many more. Now, a wider release, on Canadian home entertainment platforms, is just a few months away!
