The Flaws of Social Media are Put to the Test in this Theatrical Trailer for Friend Request

Tagline: "Evil is Trending."

The true horror of losing friends on social media has been put to film, again! This time, the horror film is titled Friend Request. Directed by German filmmaker Simon Verhoeven, the film shows what can happen when you ostracize people on social media platforms. Plus, a little witchcraft is thrown into the mix to spice things up. This film stars: Alycia Debnam-Carey ("Fear the Walking Dead") and Liesl Ahlers. This title was shot in South Africa. And, Friend Request will see theatres, in the United States, this September.

The trailer shows more of the film's mayhem. Laura (Debnam-Carey) unfriends Marina (Ahlers), on a very Facebook-like social media platform. Marina kills herself, not much later. Then, Marina's spirit returns to haunt Laura, both online and in real life. The spirit world, technology and the real world collide in Friend Request.

As well, the film's theatrical poster is hosted here. It shows the character Marina, with an evil look. The graphic promises blood and shadows as the film nears its September 22nd release date. Already released in several South Asian and European countries, Friend Request will give viewers a chill via witchcraft, soon. More details, on Friend Request, are below.
