Leatherface Has a Few Tricks Up His Sleeve in this Green Band Trailer

Leatherface is a prequel to Tobe Hooper's iconic thriller The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). Both films focus on a masked villain, who turns humans into meat. The earlier film had an anti-meat or anti-slaughterhouse message. This latest update brings more trickery to the screen. Set for a late September launch, through DirecTV, this title will also have an October Video-on-demand and limited theatrical release. Fans of true horror can find the Green Band trailer for Leatherface here.

A few more story details have been released for the film. It looks like Leatherface's earlier name was the more innocuous Bud. Bud is confined to a mental hospital, after displaying strange behaviours. He escapes with a kidnapped nurse. Soon, the Texas countryside is littered with bodies as the monster Leatherface is created.

As well, a new, alternate film poster is hosted here. The graphic shows Bud (Sam Coleman) with a new victim, ready to be made into sausage. The dark, foggy scene is lifted from some of the scenes in the film. The film and trailer show some of the night shooting and Bud going about his deadly work. All of the latest details on Leatherface are hosted here.

Release Date: September 21st (DirectTV) and October 20th (VOD, Limited Theatrical).

Directors: Alexandre Bustillo, Julien Maury.

Writer: Seth M. Sherwood.

Cast: Lili Taylor, Stephen Dorff, Nicole Andrews.
