It Floats Down into the Sewers with this Preview

Yesterday, a teaser poster was released for Andres Muschietti's It. Today, a full length trailer has been released for this title. The clip shows teens fighting a murderous clown, played by Bill Skarsgård. The trailer shows some iconic horror imagery, including people burning alive and Pennywise emerging in the sewers, beneath Derry, Maine. The trailer is a good one. As well, It will be released in September, via Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema. The latest preview for It is hosted here.

It has been several years since this critic has read the original novel. Though, the latest material is reminding this viewer that the book takes place during two timelines: one in the '50s and one in the '80s. Terrorized as children by a mysterious clown, the characters return to Derry, to face the thing of their nightmares.

The trailer keeps Pennywise mostly off-screen. Though, he does appear indirectly. Pennywise lures one child, Georgie, into the sewers. Later, he appears in a series of slides, behind long hair. But, eventually, everyone floats down into the sewers, where Pennywise awaits his latest victims. Horror fans can take a closer look at It, with the film set to hit theatres this September 8th.
