Uwe Boll Brings A Deadly Character Back to the Screen with Rampage: Capital Punishment

This film fan is a little surprised to see that director Uwe Boll will follow-up the 2009 action thriller Rampage (2009) with a sequel. The next film in the series is called Rampage: Capital Punishment. And, this sequel reunites eccentric director Boll with Canadian actor Brendan Fletcher. Together, these two will release chaos onscreen later this summer.

Central character Bill (Fletcher) is again at the center of the film. This character is still interested in fighting against the powers-that-be, with violence and rhetoric. This time, Bill takes over a television station, in Washington, D.C., with the intent of waking up the masses. And, if anyone gets in his way, then they will face the cold steel of a bullet.

A trailer for Rampage: Capital Punishment was released earlier this year (January, 2014). Since then, the official DVD artwork for the film has been released (above). The graphic shows the protagonist/antagonist taking on Washington, D.C., in an explosive fashion. As well, fans can expect this action thriller to release August 19th, 2014, through DVD, Blu-ray and Video-on-demand formats. The release is relegated to the United States, with more territories to launch Boll's latest at a later date.

Release Date: August 19th, 2014 (VOD, DVD, Blu-ray, United States).

Director/writer: Uwe Boll.

Cast: Lochlyn Munro, Brendan Fletcher and Mike Dopud.
