This Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Trailer Brings a War Between Apes and Humans to the Screen

Ten years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), humans and apes are at war. A virus has ravaged the ranks of humankind and a post-apocalyptic landscape looms upon the land. Caesar and his cohorts threaten to erase the remnants of humankind. And, film fans can see more from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which releases in theatres July 11th, 2014, in the official trailer, located below.

The clip shows the character Dreyfus (Gary Oldman) and the ape king, Caesar (Andy Serkis), squaring off in a human refuge. Other scenes show humans surrounded in an isolated forest, while Caesar promises to protect his ape brethren. The trailer is a compelling one and fans are encouraged to take a look below.
