Momentum Pictures Releases Prieto's Crime Thriller Pusher on DVD and Blu-Ray

Luis Prieto's Pusher
has recently released on DVD and Blu-Ray (February 11th). Momentum Pictures has released the film in the United Kingdom, exclusively. Prieto's latest thriller is a remake of Nicolas Winding Refn's 1996 film. In Prieto's version, the location has changed to London and the actors have increased in caliber.

Richard Coyle stars as Frank, a low level drug dealer. Frank is left on the hook for 55K GBP when he loses a large amount of cocaine. Actor Mem Ferda plays Hakan, a drug enforcer. Both Hakan and Frank square off throughout the film as Frank desperately tries to gather the money he owes.

Critical reception for this film has been fairly positive. The film website Cine-Vue notes the glut of UK based crime thrillers, but Amon Warmann likes the action in the film: "it is one of the better drug fueled thrillers to be released in recent years." The quality of the film is definitely high. As well, the review website Film School Rejects enjoyed the film's acting, especially from British actress Agyness Deyn: "Prieto’s Pusher, taken on its own merits, is a pretty good film. It’s well shot and extremely well-acted, particularly by Deyn, whose Flo communicates so much with her beautiful eyes." Deyn plays Frank's seductive love interest. And, this reviewer scored the film a 7.5 out of 10. A review of Pusher on 28DLA is available here: Pusher Review on 28DLA.com. There is a lot to like in Prieto's exciting thriller. And now, home video fanatics can own the film for themselves, courtesy of Momentum Pictures.
