Matthew Gunnoe’s The Pit Nears Completion and Preview Clip ("Meet the Family")

Grueling weather conditions and being able to set your watch by the rain has not stopped Matthew Gunnoe’s The Pit from finishing. He answers fans of his works concern of when this movie will be released by replying that it will be ready for SyFy by Halloween and plans for video release forthcoming. The first clip has been released, and the final product should be interesting to watch in more ways than one.

Gunnoe responded to questions about production by exclaiming, "The Pit has been an extraordinary pain in the ass! Mainly because of the delays in production due to adverse weather (rain and unbearably hot!). Everyone should check out the director’s commentary on the video release about all of this; I promise it won’t be boring.”

The DVD release will most likely differ from the broadcast version. The plan is to have that available by December. In what viewers will find are alternate takes that will feature more ‘revealing’ moments and Gunnoe likes to give fans everything they crave. The uncensored version may well be what the die-hards want.

“Since our main demographic (for horror films) is 18-34 year old males, you could easily assume it’s made for guys," said Gunnoe, "However, chicks enjoy horror films (there’s a lot) too. This film is made for horror fans, and I believe in giving the fans what they want, which includes, but is not limited to or just T and A.“

This movie promises to offer plenty of blood and guts, and a mysterious monster too. Gunnoe continued to respond by saying that The Pit is about a lot more than just the attractive girls. “That would be boring," said Gunnoe, "The reason sex sells, especially in horror, is the same reason bacon goes with eggs – it just works. If you sit down to a breakfast of just eggs, there’s something missing.”

“To make a successful horror film that won’t disappoint your fans (with few exceptions), you need to have three crucial elements: hot, naked chicks, plenty of gore, and a cool bad guy. Of course, this has to be weaved into a terrific story, which I believe The Pit has.”
