Rage Shows the Struggle to Survive in this Latest Gameplay Trailer ("Gearhead Vault")

id Software continues to grow a following for their upcoming sci-fi, multi-platform and digital game Rage. Their latest title uses the id Tech 5 Engine and this is the first id Software title to do so. In the game, players awaken from a cryo-genic sleep, or ARK to a world transformed by a devastating meteorite. Much of Earth's inhabitants are lost, except for those buried deep below in ARKs or hidden in caves. Humanity, in the game, has gravitated to the few sources of life including oases and watering holes.

Now, another gameplay trailer has become available for Rage, titled "Gearhead Vault." The Gearheads are a clan within the game, who support themselves through scavenging and mechanics. The gameplay reveals an in-game mission which requires players to locate and confiscate a supply of plutonium feltrite. This is a metal compound, of sorts. In the clip, the player must deal with several Gearhead clan members with remote sentries, spider bots, shotgun shells and grenade shrapnel. The trailer is very violent and rated mature, just like the game itself. Have a look at the video below and at a few other informative tidbits on the game, before the October 4th release.

Release Date: October 4th, 2011 (PC, PS3, X-Box).

Developers: id Software.

Publishers: Bethesda and Zenimax Media Inc.
