Piranha 3D Goes Retro' in France

Horror afficionado and director Alexandre Aja (High Tension) is helming the multi-million dollar Piranha remake entitled Piranha 3D, with August 20th the expected theatrical release date (UHM). A new poster for Piranha 3D was released late last month and can be seen (here). Now, a second film poster, from France can be seen left. The lead in title loosely translates to "From the director of 'The Hills Have Eyes.'" This third poster for the film has a very retro' feel and pays homage to the original Piranha movie poster. This poster and the original were both inspired by another predatory animal film called Jaws (Horror). Have a watch of the film's teaser trailer inside, or join the Piranha 3D fan page below.

The synopsis for Piranha 3D:

"Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break; a riot of sun and drunken fun. But this year, there's something more to worry about than hangovers and complaints from local old timers; A new type of terror is about to be cut loose on Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the area's new razor-toothed residents" (28DLA).

Release: August 20th, 2010 (Theatrical).

Cast: Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Eli Roth, Christopher Lloyd, Steven R. McQueen, Dina Meyer, Richard Dreyfull, Jerry O'Connell, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Brook, Cody Longo, Brooklyn Proulx, Ricardo Chavira, Riley Steele, and Paul Scheer.
