Rogue River: A Nice Place to Visit, But Noone Would Want to Live There

Rogue River, starring Bill Moseley and Michael Rooker, is moving into post-production, with some early details filtering this way. The film also stars Michael Cudlitz (Surrogates) and Art Alexakis (Detroit Rock City). The story involves character Mara returning to her hometown to bury her recently deceased father. Things start off bad, for Mara, and unfortunately get worse as Jon (Bill Moseley) lures her back to his abode, with tales of his own loss. Mara wakes from one nightmare and into another, as she finds herself "shackled to the bed" (Rogue). A full synopsis is below, with a release date to come this way shortly.

A synopsis for Rogue River:

"Mara (played by Michelle Page) a world traveler and free spirit, returns home after many years to deal with the recent death of her father. After a conflict with her older brother Andrew (play by Chris Coy) she sets off alone for Oregon’s Rogue River to scatter her father’s remains.

Continues...

Dealing with family memories leaves Mara feeling tense and isolated as she makes her way to Oregon. When she reaches the river she meets Jon (played by Bill Moseley) who is mourning the death of his young daughter. They quickly bond and when Mara’s car is towed, Jon offers her a ride to town. They take a quick detour to let Jon’s wife Lea (played by Lucinda Jenney) know he’ll be late for dinner. Lea quickly captivates Mara and she is convinced to stay the night instead of a run-down motel in town.

Things turn sinister when Mara wakes shackled to the bed. She is now a captive viewer as the dark and violent world of Jon and Lea slowly unfolds to a spine-tingling crescendo of terror" (Rogue).

Director: Jourdan McClure.

Writers: Ryan Finnerty, and Kevin Haskin.
