Necromentia Premieres at Cannes in 2009


Director Pearry Teo unleashes graphic film "Necromentia," for horror film fans in France this May 16 and North America later this year, likely October '09 from one source. A very dark film dealing with portals to the other world "Necromentia," highlights the makeup of Kim Collea (Autopsy, Ironman) and despite a moderate budget of $300,000 looks quite shocking. Potentially available in North America this Fall 2009 initial fan reaction to the promotional material, including trailer and several posters, is positive. A plot summary for "Necromentia," here...

"Necromentia," tells the stories of three men whose lives have been turned over by the existence of a tattooed ouija board and the gateways they open with it. Hagen is a strange character who keeps the corpse of his lover in his house, believing that one day she will come back from the dead. But when he meets a mysterious man named Travis, he soon learns that maybe he could be the one who goes into hell and bring her back from the dead. Once Travis carves the ouija board from his back, there is no going back as Hagen comes face to face with the monstrosities of the creatures within hell. But does Travis really want to help Hagen, or does he have other plans?

This one looks really good. I especially liked the first creature you see, with the pulled apart lips or whatever.

Yeah, man some good images in the trailer. Surprisingly there is no one working in costumes on the film. So, everything is done with make-up and special effects i.e. the lipped creature.
