With danger, seduction, and mischief on every corner, "The Spirit," must fight on.

Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of stylized violence and action, some sexual content and brief nudity.

Starring: Samuel L. Jackson (Octopus), Scarlett Johansson, Gabriel Macht, Eva Mendes

“The Spirit,” is based on a 1940’s newspaper strip of the same name, and has been adapted, by Frank Miller as a comic for the big screen.

Apparently there are over 890 visual effects in the feature as the film blends live action with a comic book feel. With the success of “Sin City,” this feature is likely to do well in the box office while entertaining many fans of the comic book genre. A December 25, 2008 release might detract from viewership as the Christmas season gets in full swing, but over time this film is sure to get the recognition it deserves.
