Friday the 13th Coming to Theatres February 13, 2008

Synopsis

A group of young adults revisit Camp Crystal Lake, the site made famous by countless murders in the 80’s, and find a seemingly unstoppable psychotic killer. Whitney, Clay, Mike, Jenna and Trent are soon running for their lives as the legendary Jason Voorhees looks to resolve some mother issues at the end of a knife (Rotten…).

The nightmare continues as director Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) takes the reigns on this Friday the 13th remake/sequel, coming to theatres February 13, 2008. With Aaron Yoo the comedic star of “Disturbia,” portraying Chewie this film is sure to throw out some laughs in between the slaughter of some up and coming young actors (Rotten…).

Release Date: 13 February 2009

Starring: Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Nick Mennell, Danielle Panabaker, Travis VanWinkle, and Aaron Yoo (Distrubia)

“Friday the 13th,” is being launched by Platinum Dunes and an interview in September with star Aaron Yoo revealed some spoilers. Apparently Aaron Yoo’s character is killed in a tool shed while covered in litres of fake blood. Also, Jason Voorhees has sprouted some legs in the film; in one trailer revealed in September, 2008 Jason is seen chasing down one terrified victim with a 2’ machete (Shock).

There is some controversy over whether this film is a sequel, prequel, or remake, the best answer is this film will be a retooling of the first three movies including; “Friday the 13th,” “Friday the 13th Part 2,” and “Friday the 13th Part III.” As well, the set of Camp Crystal Lake will be the central location with the film occurring in the same time as the first three films, the early to mid 1980’s. Other confirmed facts so far are that the character Pamela Voorhees, Jason’s mother will reappear, and so will a younger Jason Voorhees of nine to ten years of age (Internet Movie Database).
